Drawings from Seoul

In 2014 I took an oriental painting course in Seoul, South Korea.  Every week our homework was to paint four pages. This is my sketchbook from the semester. Inspired by the zigzag shape, and the continuing pages I wanted to make my sketches as one long drawing. Like a landscape or a fairytale. A mix of brush practice, observations, studies and pure imagination trying different technics and getting to know the brushes and the ink.

A two sided zigzag (Leporello) sketchbook. One with cotton paper and one with silk. Each side is 6 meter long.
